Art Direction, Creative Development, Graphic Design, Brand Identity, Digital, Print for multimedia artwork by Rosie Gibbens
In 2022 we worked with artist Rosie Gibbens to create a visual identity for her project The New Me. At the core of the project was a video artwork that borrowed the vernacular of shopping channel product demonstration videos, we helped Rosie to build a world around this video through the production of a publication, a range of merchandise and a webstore.
Through film, AR filters, NFTs and soft sculptures, The New Me parodies an absurd, dystopian and retro-futurist vision of consumerism, in which a fictional corporation called Ilium markets pointless products to bored consumers. Gibbens playfully challenges the insatiable capitalist desire for self-improvement and its demands of women, whose bodies are its vehicle.
